
Gilles à Theodore à Adolphe Melanson
Gilles is originally from Clare, NS and has lived in Saint John, NB since 1999. He is married and has a young son.
Gilles’ first musical experiences were at home as his father played with “Les Tymeux de la Baie”, a well known group from the Baie Sainte-Marie region. It was at the age of 12 that he got interested in playing bass guitar. At 19 years old, he joined Briand Melanson, Daniel LeBlanc (Grand Dérangement) and Daniel Lewis to form the band known as “Chatouille ma Bourique”.
When he moved to Saint John, he was quickly recognized for his musical talents where he participated in several musical events with a variety of musicians. Gilles counts amongst his musical influences Supertramp, Def Leppard, Boston, Rush,
Hank Williams Jr., 1755 and many bands from this hometown.
